Lately my pre-workout routine has been pretty consistent: Greek yogurt mixed with a scoop of protein powder, then the drive to Gold’s, followed by a Rice Krispies Treat and my pre-workout just before I walk in.

Today I tried something different.

I skipped the yogurt, doubled up on the Rice Krispies Treats, chased them with my pre-workout, and let the carbs do their thing on the drive over.

I think it worked.

Waking up at the lowest bodyweight I can remember—probably since high school—and then setting a PR on the trap bar deadlift was a huge spirit lifter.

No elliptical today. We’ve got a work BBQ this afternoon, so I’ll be that guy eating ground beef and sweet potatoes out of a container in the parking lot.

Hopefully I can get a walk up Mount Royal later tonight.
